We have moved the chat room to a Yahoo group account. This gives us a very stable platform, and doesn't cost the earth.
To chat, you will have to register with Yahoo. Its free, and doesn't tie you to anything. It tries to gives you an email account, but you never need to check it or use it as far as I can tell. You can just unclick the "Activate Yahoo Mail" box to drop the free email. Its probably best to give them your normal email address when it asks so that any yahoo notices will be sent to an address you check.
As a rule, you will have to make an account that includes your names as the account name is all that will show up in chat ... e.g. Bob_Corina or Bob_Corina9876 or Rob_Leisa
Any account name not in that format will NOT be authorised ... we don't want to chat to people whose user names look like "24fun", we want to know who we are talking to. Remember that this is a club, and non members will not be allowed to join the chat room, so discretion is assured.
Once again, all user names must be in the format "Bob_Corina999" Just keep on changing the numbers till you find one that hasn't already been taken.
Be careful ... it asks this question after you have registered ..
"Yes, personalise my browser with Yahoo! Companion toolbar" I suspect you don't really want to install a Yahoo toolbar, so turn it off when asked.
One of the features of Yahoo is for groups to send emails to each other. We don't need that, as we already have our email list working well. So just ignore all the instructions it gives you about sending emails to the group - I have turned them off anyway :)
Once you have a Yahoo account, join the lifestyleweekends group and I will authorise you as a member. (look for the "join this group" icon, it tricked me for a while :)
Then chat!
